This horseshoe shaped cliff with river Waghora known as Ajanta Caves, a series of 29 caves in Ajanta Maharashtra. Buddhist monks were used these caves for prayer. Ajanta caves are build in 2nd century BC and have several cave paintings and sculpture. Ajanta caves are a fine example of rock cut architecture. Some of the frescos are oldest and in good conditions. The Ajanta caves represent Buddhist art in India. The cave were connected independently from the river, but now there is path connected to the caves, caves are numbered from 1 to 29 (east to west).
