History of Bikaner:
Rathor prince Rao Bikaji, descendent of Rao Jodhaji the founder of Jodhpur established his Kingdome in Bikaner in 1488 A.D. Rao Bikaji prince was most enterprising among his five brothers, the sons of Rao Jodhaji. Bikaji converted the infertile place into the beautiful city Bikaner. A trip of the city of Bikaner visiting the likes of Junagarh Fort, Suraj Pol or Sun Gate, Ganga Golden Jubilee Museum, Lal garh Palace, and many more can be extremely interesting.

The association of camels and Bikaner goes back to a long time in history. The Bikaner army had the best camel corps which is well known as the “Ganga Risala” actively participated in the World Wars. In fact, the Ganga Risala was a camel unit in the Indian army and it took part in Indo-Pak wars. Bikaner has the only camel-breeding center in India.
