The journey starts every Wednesday evening at 1800 hrs from Delhi and ends on the following Wednesday early in the morning at 0730 hrs.

To preserve the historical experience India Railway and RTDC- Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation decided to launch a special luxury train to providing an exclusive unforgettable experience to the tourists visiting Agra and Rajasthan in 1981-82 from Delhi.

India railway department brought many changes in the coaches while keeping the same aesthetics of the interiors alive, matching the interiors of the royal status. The air-conditioned broad coach replaced the train environment.

The train is totally self- sufficient and is fully air-conditioned, including of 14 deluxe saloons. Especially facilitated for you with all modern amenities of everyday life, you would find the royal past haunting you in the historical coaches. The Palaceonwheels has two restaurants cum kitchen cars offering traditional Indian, Continental and Chinese cuisine with the special array of the day.
